24th Annual Clamfest in Highlands will span four days offering all-things seafood

Seafood lovers will surely enjoy this one! The 24th annual Clamfest will take place over four days in Highlands, August 2nd to 5th, featuring a seafood court serving fresh food, live music, beer garden, vendors, crafters, games, contests, and much more.

Food and Music lovers will fill the streets at the
Highlands Business Partnership’s 24th Annual Clam Festival from August 2nd to August 5th at Huddy Park on Bay & Waterwitch Avenues. The famous Clam Festival is a four-day spectacular event featuring a 120’ seafood court serving the freshest food from many of Highlands’ famous restaurants. Admission and parking is free, and the event takes place rain or shine.

The 24th Annual Clam Fest will feature a Beer and Wine Garden on the corner of Waterwitch and Bay Avenues sponsored by Shore Point Distributing Company. Blue-sky Amusements will set up the midway and Paladin Amusements will provide an action packed game court. Portions of Waterwitch and Bay Avenues will be closed to street traffic to accommodate the specialty vendor’s marketplace and the succulent food court with many popular Highland’s restaurants such as Chilangos, Scuba & the Beast and Lusty Lobster. Other festival favorites and a landlubber menu will also be available. The Highlands Fire Department BBQ tent will have their famous ribs, burgers, hot dogs and more. There will be plenty of novelty foods such as the Lions Club Funnel Cakes, Fruit Smoothies, Ice Cream, and much more.

On Thursday, August 2nd, the action takes place from 6:00 to 10:00 PM. Opening night, is “Pay One Price Bracelet Night,” when visitors can enjoy the amusement rides all night from 6:00 -10PM. Local favorite Motor City Revue will perform and DJ Johnny will emcee the festival and play all your favorite tunes.

Clamfest hours are 6:00 to 11:00PM on Friday, August 3rd, with entertainment by The Counterfeiters, from 7:00-11:00PM. On Saturday, August 4th, the festival begins at noon, with the Grimmer Twins on stage from 12-2PM, Kevin Mulvaney and Friends is on stage from 2 – 4PM followed by local favorites, Steel Rail from 4:00 – 7:00PM, and The Jonzes from 7:00 –11:00PM.

Clamfest hours on Sunday, August 5th, are noon to 8:00 PM with Pay-One-Price ride bracelets available. The Highlands Community Singers featuring their hit, “Happy As A Clam” will be on stage from 12:00– 1:00 PM.

The Clamfest’s world-class CLAM-SHUCKING COMPETITION kicks off at 2:00 PM sponsored by Lusty Lobster and has a 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizewinner to the person who finishes shucking their Clams first.

The famous ALL YOU CAN EAT CLAM CONTEST, sponsored by Station One Seafood, will begin promptly at 2:30 pm and be limited to 15 contestants. This is also a 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize contest to the person who can eat the most clams from their bucket in five (5) minutes. Registration for ALL Contests begins at Noon.

Local legendary Jersey Shore band, Brian Kirk and the Jirks will take the stage from 3:30 – 6:30. The Highlands Business Partnership’s “King of the Clam” super 50/50 drawing will be drawn on Sunday, August 5th at 7:00pm. We will also be raffling off His & Her Beach Cruisers from Kranky Cycles.

This is a free event with free parking as well. Clamfest will be held over at Huddy Park in Highlands, NJ, with times spanning 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM on August 2nd, 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM August 3rd, 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM August 4th, and 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM August 5th.

  1. I understand this year there will be free parking on Gravelly Point Road with complimentary shuttle service to the festival!
