The first ever Catsbury Park Cat Convention happened over the weekend at Convention Hall in Asbury Park, which gathered cat owners and lovers under one roof to celebrate their favorite felines.
Hosting an assortment of vendors, animal rescues, local businesses, and much more, the inaugural cat convention went off in style over the course of two days. We stopped by to check out all of the festivities, and even spoke to the event founder, DJ Bornschein, who said, “The whole mission behind what we’re doing is obviously to create a fun event for families, and children, and adults, and people from all over. But our main mission is to save cats, raise awareness for issues that face cats today.”
Borschein not only organized the sprawling cat convention, but he is also the owner of Catsbury Park Cafe, which is located in the business district of Asbury Park at 708 Cookman Avenue. We also made a pit stop at the cafe, where patrons can hang out with some of the feline residents there – all while enjoying some of the cafe’s available drinks and snacks.
