The busy summer months are behind us, which means that many of our beaches are in need of some proper cleanups. That’s where local non-profit group Clean Ocean Action comes to mind, as they invite participants and volunteers to join them in their fall beach sweeps on Saturday, October 21st.

Since launching the region’s first Beach Sweeps program in 1985, over 115,800 COA volunteers have participated and removed over 5.9 million pieces of debris from New Jersey’s beaches and waterways. The fall beach sweeps will be held at various locations throughout the Jersey shore, so there’s probably going to be one that’ll be convenient for you to attend.
