When we think of classic summer dishes in-and-around the Jersey Shore area, seafood definitely tops our list of dishes to try out. Being so close to the water, it’s an automatic assumption.

Here in Red Bank, if there’s one place to scope out at least once this summer, you have to check out the Boondocks Fishery – located at 1 Wharf Avenue, overlooking the majestic Navesink River. Since the Boondocks Fishery is open seasonally from mid-May to mid-September, there’s a short window of opportunity to check it out, but it’s one you definitely won’t forget.

Recently, we stopped by for our first visit, absorbing the live music, scenic atmosphere of being at a seafood joint, and the wonders of the Navesink River. It’s a BYOB place, so make sure to bring along some of your favorite refreshments! And don’t worry, they have buckets and ice on hand to help keep them cool.
Even though it’s all outdoor seating, many of the tables are covered by awnings. After placing your order at the front counter, servers deliver your orders to the table. And when it comes to dishes, Boondocks Fishery covers the gamut – offering sandwiches, platters, appetizers, salads, and much more!
