If there’s one thing that made summer 2021 memorable, it has to be none other than cornhole. The lawn game that has players tossing bags of corn kernels into a small cut out on a raised platform has been nothing short of popular over the summer. Red Bank hosted its first ever cornhole tournament a couple weeks back with an event held at the Broadwalk pedestrian plaza on Broad Street.
Many participants signed up for it, which was an event organized by Northwestern Mutual Red Bank and the Red Bank Business Alliance — all to benefit non-profit Alex’s Lemonade Stand. The event itself was widely attended and definitely showcased the attraction of Red Bank as one of Monmouth County’s destinations. While past popular annual events such as the Red Bank street fair and even more popular Red Bank Food and Wine Walk were no-shows this year, the town is gearing up for some other wonderful events held later this summer and into the start of fall. In fact, two of them are the Red Bank Guinness Oyster Festival and Concert in the Park.
