Belmar Kitchen by David Burke to open inside of Beach Haus Brewery in Belmar

Belmar’s already notable downtown district area is known for many fantastic restaurants and eateries, but you can expect yet another new addition this spring as Belmar Kitchen by David Burke is set to open on Wednesday, April 14!

Belmar, NJ – David Burke, New Jersey’s very own world-renowned, innovative celebrity chef, will open his latest New Jersey restaurant – Belmar Kitchen by David Burke – on Wednesday, April 14 in this iconic Jersey Shore town! Belmar Kitchen will be located on the second level of the popular Beach Haus Brewery on Main Street, where another Burke venture – the festive and casual Beach Haus Bar and Grill by David Burke – is also located. The Belmar Kitchen has a contemporary, casual, bistro-like vibe serving a beer-friendly menu with finely crafted dishes and full-service bar. The addition of Belmar Kitchen is sure to make the Brewery one of the most popular dining destinations at the Shore.

“David’s brand is very respected and, like our brewery style, is very unique,” said Brewery co-owner Joel Brudner. “He has a great following and has created concepts at very different levels. We look forward to continuing our fantastic partnership.”

Brudner and co-owner Christopher McCallion opened Beach Haus Brewery in 2015 in the large, Main Street building that once housed Freedman’s Bakery. It is ideally located in Belmar’s downtown area five blocks from the beach and steps from train and bus stops. The Brewery has a total occupancy of 440. Belmar Kitchen will seat approximately 100 guests.

“We are a craft brewery, it’s what we do,” added Dylan Kohan, Beach Haus Brewery Vice President of Operations.  “We work with our hands and minds to try to do some unique things and David certainly represents that in the food industry.”

“Belmar Kitchen will be an asset to the already popular Beach Haus,” said Burke. “I am very excited about this concept, it’s new and different and my team has had a very positive experience developing and executing this fun dining concept with Joel, Chris and their team. Our concept embraces locals and tourists alike who all love craft beers and serious food.”

Earlier this year Beach Haus Brewery – featuring 20 of their signature craft beers on tap – launched Beach Haus Bar and Grill by David Burke, which serves a casual tavern menu in the second level, beer-hall called the Taproom and smaller downstairs Bar. There is also an ample outdoor deck off the Taproom.

Belmar Kitchen is located on the second level and will offer a more formal and subdued dining experience, albeit with the continued fun, casual ambiance. The décor is chic, rustic warehouse with whimsical accents throughout, for example wall mountings consisting of front halves of bicycles bursting through a wall, rustic doors propped up against walls leading to nowhere and suspended reclaimed flying windows painted Jackson Pollack-style in bright colors. The dining room uses sizable distressed wooden tables and has a large bar that faces the exposed kitchen. There is also an interactive chef’s table next to the kitchen.

Key to Belmar Kitchen’s menu is a gorgeous, hand-built, wood-fired Stefano Ferraro Napoli pizza oven, which was originally installed in Beach Haus in 2015. Belmar Kitchen’s elevated beer-friendly menu includes several of Burke’s signature dishes, such as Bacon on a Clothesline, Lobster Dumplings, 28-ounce Dry-aged Ribeye for 2 (the steaks are dry-aged by Burke’s special U.S. Patented dry-aging process with walls lined with Pink Himalayan Salt) and his addictive Hipster Fries with shishito peppers, bacon, parmesan and chili oil. A sampling of dishes available on Belmar Kitchen’s menu include several that utilize the pizza oven, such as a traditional Margherita Pizza with tomato, mozzarella and basil; Short Rib Pizza with garlic, caramelized onions, braised short rib and horseradish cheddar; Wood-Fired Heirloom Carrots & Brussels Sprouts with siracha honey and pepitas, and Spicy Oven Roasted Prawns with blistered tomato, scampi sauce, basil and sourdough bread. Also featured on the menu are a small or large Meat and Cheese Board, Linguini with Drunken Clam Sauce, Steak Frites, Chicken Milanese and Pan Seared Branzino. A sampling of the dessert menu includes Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Sliders with amerena cherries, candied pistachio, toasted marshmallows, hot fudge and Double Chocolate Fudge Cake with roasted almonds, raspberries and whip cream.

“Through the years we have seen a drastic increase in year-round residents who have become our regular customers,” said Brudner. “We expect with our varied alternative dining areas Beach Haus will continue to be popular among locals. But we also draw from a range of 20-30 miles away along with summer beach visitors who are enjoying our concept too. We see a lot of young Moms and Dads with strollers too. With David on board we know the trends will continue to rise. We also anticipate an increase in demand for catered events. We have had a lot of weddings already and while the site is not for everybody, it meets the demand for a unique more personalized event.”

Some plans brewing for the summer at Beach Haus include creating more open air and outdoor seating on the first level and Grab n’ Go items.
