Pier Village has always been a huge attraction to visitors both near and far, thanks in part to its budding boardwalk, beaches, eateries, and hotel resorts. There’s also downtown Long Branch, which is home to even more local businesses — as well as a brewery that’s only a short walk away from the boardwalk. However, the additional construction over the past year will make Pier Village one of the bigger destinations at the Jersey Shore this summer.
A quick stroll through the southern end of the boardwalk is an indication of that, as new buildings have been constructed in time for this summer. Indeed, we’re still not out of the pandemic just yet, which is important to continue following social distancing guidelines, but there’s no denying that the new construction on the south end of the Pier Village will bring additional traffic to the area.
With the opening of Wave Resort last year, plus the ongoing construction and opening of several other residential spaces, has certainly attracted buzz for Pier Village. Combining the sprawling beaches with the various retail shops and eateries that have been there already, Pier Village’s growth will be monumental. Architecturally, there’s an undeniable South Beach vibe going on with the new construction, which is a stark departure from the contemporary style buildings at the heart of Pier Village.
Still, the contrasting look is certainly eye catching, but more importantly, it’ll be interesting to see how things will play out in terms of growth.As for new restaurants slated to open this summer, they include Branch Cantina and LBK Grill. They’ll be paired with the fine dining experience of 100 Ocean, which is located inside of Wave Resort.
