Local good guy, turned master film maker, and comic book man Kevin Smith was originally slated to be around the area once again for ‘An Evening with Kevin Smith‘ at Monmouth University on Friday, April 24, but it’s been rescheduled for November 20 due to the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.

With an abundance of precaution, Kevin Smith’s benefit event for FilmOneFest has been rescheduled for November 20, 2020 a 9:00 pm at Monmouth University’s Pollak Theatre, 400 Cedar Avenue, West Long Branch, NJ.
“It is in the best interest of our community to reschedule the event at this time to November,” said Janet Peterson, a local financial advisor who is producing the event. “We are also following the recommendations by the State of New Jersey that have encouraged against large gatherings of 250 people or more.” Tickets already purchased will be automatically honored for the new date, or given a refund.
Kevin Smith comes full circle with his return to New Jersey, riding high on the wave of his successful Jay and Silent Bob REBOOT Tour. Join him and his most loyal fans for an intimate Q&A at Monmouth University’s Pollak Theatre (400 Cedar Avenue, Long Branch, NJ) on April 24, 2020 at 9:00 PM. Doors open at 8:00 PM. Tickets at the $40 and $30 levels go on sale February 2.
About the event: In his debut film, Clerks, Highlands-native Kevin Smith filmed right in his own backyard and cast himself as “Silent Bob,” a character who never speaks. Decades later, “Silent Bob” opens up as Kevin Smith talks about his career in filmmaking, his beginnings in New Jersey, superheroes, comic books, gaming, and life in general. Kevin will answer questions from the audience.
The event is produced by Kevin’s life-long friend, Janet Peterson, a local supporter of the arts.

-A picture ID will be required upon check-in for the event.
-No alcohol or photography/recording will be allowed.
-This is an adult event with adult language, children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
