Two River Theater introduces its “First Monday Masters” classes & workshops for students and adults

In expanding its coverage, Two River Theater will be hosting a brand new series of participatory master classes, dubbed First Monday Masters, that’ll consist of workshops and classes geared for high-school students, adults, and some mixed ages. The first one will be held Monday, April 9th, with “Geek Theater” featuring Matt Barbot.

FIRST MONDAY MASTERS: GEEK THEATER with Matt Barbot- For adults and high-school students, limited to 16 participants

Superheroes, aliens, cowboys, and dragons aren’t just taking over your movie and televisions screens. More and more plays are taking their inspiration from pop culture, and telling stories that have been considered too big for the stage until now. Matt Barbot – the playwright behind the very comic book inspired El Coquí Espectacular and the Bottle of Doom – offers a crash course in so-called Geek Theater, in which attendees will learn what the movement is all about, and create a piece of genre theater of their own.

Cost: $40

Teachers can use our two-hour First Monday Masters classes for professional development, and will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the evening. We do accept Purchase Orders for these classes; please contact the box office to make arrangements if using a school Purchase Order for payment: 732-345-1400.

As mentioned above, tickets to this first introductory event are $40, so if you want to attend, you’ll want to register through the link below. It’ll be running from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM over at Two River Theater’s location on 21 Bridge Avenue in Red Bank, NJ.
