Opening night for Two River Theater’s production of Dancing at Lughnasa was held last night, April 20th, to a packed crowd that concluded with a standup ovation.
With an ensemble cast led by director Jessica Stone, the Brian Friel written play follows the Mundy sisters, who all live in County Donegal on Ireland’s west coast, as it’s recounted by Michael, who happens to be the illegitimate son of one of the sisters. It’s a powerful and dynamic look at the sisters’ lives one ‘perfect‘ summer, before things go awry.
“Dancing at Lughnasa” is currently running at Two River Theater until May 13th, so you’ll want to check it out sometime. And as always, don’t forget to check out all of our photos below from opening night – as well as our video above that highlights some of the speeches during it!
