Community Mural Project at Kitch Organic comes to fruition with collaboration between local arts organizations, Indie Street Film Festival, & much more

On a beautiful Friday night in Red Bank, off Leighton Avenue to be more specific, a group of people, local organizations, and influencers showed up at Kitch Organic to help paint this year’s Community Mural Projectsponsored by the Red Bank RiverCenter. This celebratory occasion helps to highlight two particular creative events being hosted in Red Bank; Two River Theater’s Crossing Borders Festival of New Latino Plays and Indie Street Film Festival.

The Indie Street Film Festival will be happening in Red Bank from July 26th to the 30th, while Two River Theater’s Crossing Borders Festival of New Latino Plays will go on from August 3rd to the 7th.

For this particular event at Kitch Organic, it included more than 20 local youths that took part in the mural painting from various local arts organizations. They include Two River Theater’s Education Programs, Project Write Now, Red Bank Regional High School, Horizons at Rumson Country Day School, JBJ Soul Kitchen and much more!

It commenced with a quick opening reception, followed by some phenomenal food courtesy of Kitch Organic. Afterwards, Indie Street Film Festival Artistic Director, Jay Webb, got things started with the mural painting by guiding the youths participating in it on how to help paint. From the looks of it, everyone had a great time helping in creating the colorful mural!
