Art galleries you need to visit in Red Bank

Red Bank is a town for the arts! It’s evident by the architecture of some of the buildings, the various theaters throughout town, and even some murals that you may spot strolling down some of the main streets in town. However, if you’re a lover of artwork, then you’ll be pleased to know that Red Bank has a handful of galleries to check out!

In this piece, we’re going to dive into some of the art galleries you need to visit this summer in Red Bank! They’re places that cover the gamut, showcasing work that range from contemporary pieces, all the way to abstract ones. You’ll find plenty of variety, which is why it’s not a bad idea to check them all out!

Art Alliance of Monmouth County

Since their founding in 1978 by Jean Townsend, the Art Alliance of Monmouth County has evolved into a diverse group of over 300 members representing a vast array of artistic disciplines. The Art Alliance was initially located at what is now known as the Count Basie Theater in Red Bank. It was here where members began holding classes, workshops, and mounting member exhibitions. In 1992, the Art Alliance moved to its present location at 33 Monmouth Street.

Today, they are the premier Central New Jersey showcase organization for traditional and nontraditional art, including sculpture, painting, drawing, fiber, photography, collage, and digital art. Their mission is to promote the advancement of the visual arts and provide exhibition, studio, and classroom space to local artists. New members are always welcome and membership by art lovers is also encouraged.

Beacon Fine Art Gallery

Chetkin Gallery, established in 1987 by Don and Carol Lynn Chetkin, is an International Fine Art Gallery with a special emphasis on Contemporary European painters. The Gallery is located at 9 Wharf Avenue in a charming, historic building in the marina area of Red Bank.

The Gallery’s selection of internationally renowned painters has evolved from a handful of French artists to about four dozen artists from France, China, England, Italy, Spain, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Holland, Ireland, and North America. The ambiance of the gallery is Classical Impressionism, Post Impressionism, and Contemporary Impressionism which is displayed on two floors.

DETOUR Gallery is a 10,000 Sq.ft. Contemporary art center located in the arts district of downtown Red Bank, NJ. The space consists of three main exhibition spaces and several exterior locations for artistic engagement. Oyster Point Gallery Exhibitions, originally conceived by Vice President Kevin Barry, and currently curated by Ellen Martin, provides a prestigious and viable alternative gallery venue to artists from New Jersey and nearby locations. Both emerging and established artists, including award winners, have been included in the exhibitions that are shown in the public spaces of the first two floors of the Hotel.
