Rumson’s getting busy with the anticipation of its St. Patricks Day Parade looming on the horizon. Before that, though, the town’s hosting several different events that’ll benefit Red Bank’s Stephy’s Place, grief and loss support center.
The 2020 Rumson St. Patrick’s Day Parade is a festive family-friendly event that attracts thousands of spectators from neighboring towns and beyond!
In just eight short years, the parade has nearly tripled in size and has become a beloved annual event that people of all ages have come to cherish.
As a non-profit corporation, the mission of The Rumson St. Patrick’s Day Parade is to celebrate Irish heritage and provide charitable gifts to local organizations that improve the Greater Rumson community.
Community Events Celebrate Celtic Culture:
Eighth Annual Rumson St. Patrick’s Day Parade, March 8, 2020 Benefits Stephy’s Place
WHAT: Celtic culture thrives on the Two River Peninsula through numerous Irish-themed community events, culminating in the Annual Rumson St. Patrick’s Day Parade where 4,000+ people gather to watch the parade along the 1.5-mile parade route through the heart of Rumson. Now in its eighth year, the non-profit Parade has raised and donated more than $150,000 to local charities that benefit the community. This year’s Parade benefits Stephy’s Place, A Support Center Grief and Loss that provides free support groups for anyone losing a loved one.

WHO: Grand Marshall John Keegan, life-long Rumson resident and Charles Edison Fund Chairman and President, will step off at 1:00 pm, leading bag pipe bands, floats, marching bands from area high schools, Irish Step Dancers, antique and classic cars, veteran groups, scouting organizations, non-profit clubs and organizations, schools, novelty acts, and local and area business and civic groups.
WHEN: March 8, 2020, 1:00 to 2:30 pm.
WHERE: Approximately 1.5 miles along River Road, beginning at Allen Street and finishing at Carton Street and Forrest Avenue, Rumson.
