Did you see it? Even though it’s still nearly impossible to see with the naked eye, Comet Neowise is still hovering above the skies after sunset around the area. C/2020 F3, known as Comet Neowise, sits beneath the Big Dipper in the northwestern area of the sky and can be seen now until July 26.
In Red Bank, there are certainly many different views where you can snag a photo of Neowise — even potentially seeing it with a pair of binoculars. We went down by Marine Park with the beautiful majestic Navesink River in the background, and despite the humidity, were offered some breathtaking sunset views.
Sunset has been close to 8:30 p.m., but you won’t be able to photograph Comet Neowise until closer to 9:00 p.m. Still, you’ll get better results come 9:30 p.m. and onward because there’s still a bit of light hovering around the horizon. Using long exposure photography, we’re able to clearly make out the tail of Comet Neowise. It’s not something you would typically see in the night sky, so you’re mesmerized when you do see it in picture because it’s one of those rare opportunities.
