RED BANK, NJ — Characters from one of the most beloved movies ever made –and the series of books that inspired that movie—will come to the stage in Two River Theater’s production of Journey to Oz: A Wizard of Oz Story, running November 23-25. This family-friendly show will unfold in the Rechnitz Theater as a giant library that transports audiences to Kansas, Munchkin Land, Emerald City and other magical locations inspired by L. Frank Baum’s life and series of Oz books.

Recommended for everyone ages 4 and up, the hour-long production features opportunities for audience members to join the company of professional actors. Participation is voluntary, but interested young people will take turns in roles ranging from Munchkins to flying monkeys to Dorothy herself. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased from tworivertheater.org or 732.345.1400.

Journey to Oz: A Wizard of Oz Story will be performed over Thanksgiving weekend as a family-friendly experience for the young and the young-at-heart to enjoy together. Performances are as follows:

Friday, November 23 at 1pm and 7pm

Sunday, November 25 at 10am (relaxed performance), 1pm and 4pm
