The 18th annual Highlands Oktoberfest was held on Saturday night, October 6th, courtesy of the Highlands Business Partnership, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering economic growth as well as preserving the area’s historic past.
Naturally, the main attraction of the event was the assortment of German brews that were available on tap for attendees to try out. Adding to that, of course, were all of the authentic German food that was catered by Bahrs Landing Restaurant, consisting of traditional things such as bratwurst, knockwurst, kraut, potato pancakes, goulash, sauerbraten and Bavarian noodles!
From the various kids activities, to the costume constests, and even vendors that were there, the 18th annual Highlands Oktoberfest was enjoyed by all participants at Veterans Memorial Park in Highlands, NJ. The highlight of the event, however, had to be the beer stein holding contest – where participants competed in becoming the last person holding their pitcher of beer!
